Iron Dwarves

Excerpt from Udlo’s “Survey of the Non-Human Humanoids”

The “Iron Dwarves”, as they are commonly referred to, inhabit and are named after the titanic Iron Mountains, a mountain range separating (thankfully) the Ice Men from the rest of the world. Due to their location between these savages and civilized society, the Iron Dwarves have taken it upon themselves to act as a barrier keeping the tide of Northerners at bay. This has resulted in a society very centered on military service -most Iron Dwarves spend some portion of their life manning the Northern Walls, with those who haven’t served on the walls often being shunned to some degree by the rest of society.

The Iron Dwarves revere the art of metallurgy and metal-crafting, delving deep into the gargantuan mountains they call home in search of metal ore. Dwarven smiths are given a high place in society, and it is seen as the height of reverence to the gods to improve upon the Metal Arts in some way. The Dwarven reverence for metal is tied to their worship of the pantheon of Torag, who Dwarven legend claims fathered their race.
